Motorcycle Taiwan 2008 revolves around the single, socially-conscious theme "New Era with a Green Earth," TAITRA said, for which the show would have a special display zone: The fuel-injection (FI) 5th-stage Emission Standard Pavilion to showcase related development achievements of environment-friendly products by local makers. Taiwan's 5th-stage emission regulation is the world's most stringent and demanding globally, one to be effective on the first day of 2009 after a grace period of about one year. All PTWs to measure up to such standard will have to be equipped with electronic fuel-injection (EFI) engines.

 

TAITRA pointed out that promoting such demanding emission standard on the island has effectively upgraded local PTW makers’ technical capability to produce the cleanest vehicles globally, greatly elevating local PTW industry's global image.
